PERM
Allows an employer to hire a foreign worker to work permanently in the U.S.
NIW
Serves as a PERM alternative for those with advanced degrees or demonstrated exceptional ability in the sciences, arts or business.
TN
Allows qualified citizens of Canada and Mexico to work in the U.S. in prearranged business activities as part of the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
J-1
Provides the opportunity for individuals to participate in work- and study-based exchange visitor programs.
E-1 and E-2
Allow long-term international traders (E-1) and investors (E-B2) from qualifying treaty countries to temporarily live and work in the U.S.
O-1
Qualifies individuals with “extraordinary ability” in the sciences, arts, education, business or athletics to temporarily work in the U.S.
H-2
Brings foreign nationals to temporarily work in the U.S. in agricultural (H-2A) or nonagricultural (H-2B) jobs.
E-3 and H-1B1
Allow specialty occupation workers from Australia (E-3) or Chile and Singapore (H-1B1) to temporarily work in the U.S. based on treaty agreements.
B-1 and B-2
Enables foreign nationals to come to the U.S. temporarily for business (B-1), tourism (B-2) or both.
H-3
Allows noncitizens coming temporarily to the U.S. to receive training not available in their resident country or to participate in a special education exchange visitor training program.
