BAL’s litigation group brings together counsel with immigration litigation experience from the private sector, the Department of Justice and within the agencies that are the target for lawsuits. They help BAL clients identify scenarios where litigation could benefit them and their employees, and implement strategies to advance litigation in a thoughtful and efficient manner. The litigation group advises corporations, coalitions and individuals on proactive and defensive litigation strategies to address delays, programmatic and constitutional challenges, and to pursue class actions.
BAL’s litigation group has extensive experience in administrative and federal courts from both the private sector and the federal government, including: • Hundreds of cases across federal district courts and federal courts of appeal • Defending government agencies in federal litigation including jurisdictional issues, policy changes (including executive orders and proclamations, and impact litigation) • District court and court of appeals wins on jurisdiction to challenge U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services determinations, including mandamus/delays • Experience through presidential transitions and various administrations
