U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced that it is extending the validity of certain employment authorization documents for Temporary Protected Status beneficiaries from El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua and Sudan.

Key Points:

  • The extension is valid through March 9, 2025 for certain EADs for TPS beneficiaries under the designations of El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua and Sudan.
  • Affected beneficiaries will receive a Form I-797, Notice of Action with information about the extension.

Additional Information: To keep TPS benefits, current TPS beneficiaries under one of the five designated countries who have not reregistered for TPS under the most recent extension for that designation must submit Form I-821, Application for Temporary Protected Status. Although these EADs are extended through March 9, 2025, reregistration periods for the five designated countries end on different dates, as previously announced by the Department of Homeland Security:

  • El Salvador | March 9, 2025
  • Honduras | July 5, 2025
  • Nepal | June 24, 2025
  • Nicaragua | July 5, 2025
  • Sudan | April 19, 2025
