The government has implemented several measures effective March 21 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Key Points:

  • Visas on arrival and e-visas are suspended until April 30.
  • All incoming travelers including Myanmar nationals arriving from or having visited Austria, Belgium, Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom or the United States in the past 14 days are subject to a 14-day quarantine in a facility.
  • All travelers must show a health certificate issued by the medical authorities of their country that states they have no symptoms of acute respiratory illness before boarding a flight to Myanmar.

Additional information: Diplomats and UN officials arriving in Myanmar are not subject to facility quarantine but are encouraged to enter home quarantine for 14 days.
