What is the change? The fees for initial residence permit issuance and renewal have changed.

What does the change mean? For most types of residence permits, the fee is now 200 euros, though the residence permit stamp duty has increased from 19 euros to 25 euros.

  • Visas/permits affected: All residence permits.
  • Who is affected: Employers applying for residence permits or residence permit renewal for foreign nationals.
  • Business impact: Employers may see a reduction in residence permit fee amounts for their foreign national employees and their families.

Analysis & Comments: The residence permit fee change is good news for employers, as the cost of some types of residence permits has gone down. The fee of 60 euros has decreased to 50 euros for temporary residence permits for students, interns, job search, business creation and private and family life. However, the fee for DCEMs for accompanying children has increased from 45 euros to 50 euros.
