Karen is an Associate in the Dallas office of BAL. She works on various aspects of employment-based immigration, including PERM and nonimmigrant visa matters. As the daughter of Nepali immigrants, Karen has seen firsthand the struggles that many immigrants face when trying to establish themselves in the U.S. As such, immigration law is very personal to her. With her extensive professional and personal experience in the field, Karen is committed to providing exceptional, empathetic service to her clients. During law school, Karen worked as a student attorney for the Judge Elmo B. Hunter Legal Center for Victims of Crimes Against Women, where she represented a survivor of domestic abuse and helped her client seek immigration relief under the Violence Against Women Act. As a student attorney, Karen also conducted interviews with local women’s shelters and advocacy groups to create resources for abused women seeking help. Karen is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and Texas State Bar Association.
