Emily Yao

Emily is a Senior Associate in the San Francisco office of BAL. She handles a variety of employment-based immigrant and nonimmigrant visa matters for institutional and corporate clients in the technology and biomedical sector, with particular focus on PERM and EB-1.

Prior to BAL, Emily worked at several business immigration law firms based in San Francisco and Los Angeles and interned at the Office of the Chief Counsel for the Department of Homeland Security, Immigration & Customs Enforcement (ICE), as well as the Office of the Associate Chief Counsel for Customs & Border Protection (CBP). She was an editorial member of Hastings International & Comparative Law Review, and previously served as an AmeriCorps/JusticeCorps volunteer member for the Los Angeles Superior Court.
