The French government announced a new online filing system to submit certain 10-year extension permits.

    • 10-year residence permit for family reasons (family reunification, foreign national married to a French national, etc.)
    • 10-year residence certificate for Algerian nationals
    • 10-year resident card for nationals of Burkina, Benin, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Congo, Côte d’Ivoire, Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Morocco Niger, Senegal, Togo and Tunisia.
  • Permanent resident cards for an indefinite period of time may also now be requested on the new site.

Additional Information: As BAL previously reported, the French government has also recently launched a new digital tool that will alert foreign nationals when it is time to renew their residence permit. The new tool is in partnership with France’s foreign services reform program (PERSée), and the program only applies to foreign nationals who hold a residence permit that was issued as part of the “digital administration of foreigners in France” (ANEF). The new digital program is designed to be a proactive tool for foreign nationals to request for renewal of their residence permit in a timely manner and avoid late fees as well as limiting the need for issuance of provisional documents.
