IMPACT – MEDIUM
What is the change? Employers are reminded to submit their annual Mozambican Company Employee List (known as the Relação Nominal) to the Ministry of Labor between April 1 and April 30.
What does the change mean? The list must detail all employees, regardless of nationality, who are employed by the company as of March 31. Companies that incorporate and begin business activities after April 30 have 30 days to submit their employee list. Employers who do not submit their annual list to the ministry on time will be deemed noncompliant and could face immigration consequences.
Analysis & Comments: Employers should begin preparing to submit their employee lists and should be sure to meet the April 30 deadline. The lists are used to calculate foreign worker ratios and are needed in order for companies to sponsor foreign workers for long-term work permits or work permit renewals.
