“As a first-generation Mexican American, immigration is personal for me. My background has fueled my interest in helping immigrants navigate the intricacies of U.S. immigration.”
Gilberto is an Associate in the San Francisco office of BAL. He currently works with a Fortune 500 client, focusing on nonimmigrant and immigrant visa matters, as well as managing the assessment program. He also has experience working with small- and medium-sized businesses, startups and nonprofit organizations. A model of career growth at BAL, Gilberto started at BAL as an immigration assistant and worked his way up to staff attorney after completing law school. After a brief hiatus from BAL when he worked with a boutique immigration firm in Silicon Valley, he rejoined BAL as an associate attorney. During law school, Gilberto was a fellow/student counselor at the Katherine & George Alexander Community Law Center in Santa Clara, providing immigration and employment assistance to low-income clients.
