Fernanda is an Associate in BAL’s New York office. She assists multinational corporate clients with all aspects of corporate U.S. immigration, including employment-based nonimmigrant and immigrant visas. She also provides compliance advice and guidance to clients on all immigration matters, working alongside clients’ legal departments, global mobility teams, and HR. Fernanda has extensive experience in handling all aspects of immigration and nationality law, including the processing of H-1B, L-1, O-1, E-2, and TN nonimmigrant visa petitions, applications for labor certification, I-140 immigrant petitions, extraordinary ability, multinational managers and executive immigrant visa petitions, adjustment of status applications, consular processing, and naturalization. Before joining BAL, Fernanda worked as an associate at the immigration practice of a New York multi-practice law firm, representing corporate clients, non-profit organizations, and foreign nationals from across a wide spectrum of industries to efficiently obtain U.S. immigrant and nonimmigrant visas. Prior to these positions, Fernanda provided legal counsel to small and mid-size corporations, entrepreneurs, and other entities based in Brazil with plans to expand to the U.S. She also served on a team of New York attorneys that successfully represented shareholders in one of the largest class-action lawsuits ever litigated in U.S. history. Fernanda provides clients the guidance and services they need to seize opportunities, maximize their potential, and minimize risk, guiding them through every step of their immigration journey. She strives to be an integral part of her client's success by providing representation, services, and strategic advice to facilitate the hiring and movement of skilled talent in the U.S.
