The Philippines government recently extended travel restrictions for 10 countries and announced temporary closures to many consular and off-site passport offices.

Key Points:

  • All foreign nationals traveling from, or who have been in, Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Oman, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand or the United Arab Emirates within 14 days of intended arrival are barred from entering the country until at least Aug. 15.
  • From Aug. 6 to Aug. 20, many consular offices and temporary off-site passport services throughout the country will be closed or have reduced services.
    • Information on specific office closures and where services are limited can be found on the Department of Foreign Affairs website.
    • Individuals with emergency or urgent medical travel needs may email a request to cl@dfa.gov.ph with their identity documents attached.
    • Applicants who need urgent appointments for apostille or authentication services may send an email to authentications@dfa.gov.ph with their identity documents and proof of emergency attached.
