The government has extended the suspension of flights and the federal shelter-in-place lockdown to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.

  • All flights to and from Iraq (including the Kurdistan region) continue to be suspended till April 11.
  • Cargo flights are exempted from the suspension.
  • Iraq (including the Kurdistan region) is on lockdown until April 11.

Analysis & Comments: The extension of the flight suspension and federal lockdown are a continuation of similar measures imposed earlier this month in Baghdad and the Kurdistan region.
